Here goes... This is a test that I found on the EQ Clerics forum which I revised and/or chopped to peices in some cases(to fit the current expansions) This is the kind of stuff you DON'T learn by levelling up at a breakneck speed. There is also a really great way to transition a Cleric moving from a 'just grouping' to a 'raiding and grouping' cleric or to a 'fll blown raiding cleric'. I hope it helps some folks. Feel free to print this out for your own personal records to keep track of your progress. If youd like to complete it and send it back to me, I can look it over and give you some feedback. that is no problem at all. Just be patient with me. =)
1) Please list your heals in order of gaining healing agro from lowest to highest, and why you listed them that way.
2) A single mob is inc. and the puller is at 20% health. What spells do you cast, in what order, and why?
3) Why would I want to lead off my heals with a HoT? Please give examples and your thought process behind your answer. There should be two parts to your answer as a little hint.
4) Cleric's have stun spells, but we always hear that stuns generate a whole lot of agro. When should I use a stun spell and why? What zones are best suited to using stuns and why? What level should I start actively stunning in these zones?
5) The crazed Monk has announced that there are a "few" inc... You look up and see 5 mobs heading your way. You plan to cast a couple of quick HoT's on the tanks and make sure that the slowers don't accidentally grab agro and die. How do you check who has agro on each of the five mobs and how do you switch from mob-to-mob?
Part 2:
During the above pull, you find that one of the Shaman, who is not in your group, has acquired agro and taken a lot of damage. Before you can react, a tank acquires agro. What should you do and why?
6) You are on a raid healing the MT on the boss mob. Your mana drops to 80%. What should you do? Your mana drops to 40%. What should you do? Your mana drops to 20%. What should you do? Your mana drops to 10%. What should you do. You are now OoM!!!!! What should you do? Give examples on various boss mobs for the last one. There are lots of different situations here, so give me some examples of several different options and scenarios.
7 ) What spells can be MGB'd? What AA's can be MGB'd? How do we setup hotkeys to cast them? When are they cast? Why are they cast? What is the criteria for a spell or aa to be able to be MGB'd?
8) Abbreviations
Give me a definition of the following abbreviations and how you would use them:
A) HoTT
B) CH
C) DA (Name both there are two. One is often abbreviated differently.)
D) BoL
E) VoV
F) HoT
G) DI
H) CR
I) RC
J) DR
K) MGB
L) MotU
M) BotU
N) AoL
O) Yaulp (Yes I know its not an abbreviation- but you need to know this one.)
9) Multi-part:
A) A mob is incoming. Your slower was resisted and gets agro, quickly dropping him to 40% or lower health. A DPS class snap aggro's the mob, pulling it off your slower, but due to the mob being unslowed begins to take a lot of damage quickly. Divine Arbitration and your Epic heal are down. What should you do? Who should you heal first and why? Who should you let die and why?
B) This time you are fighting the mob and it has already been slowed. Your slower gets agro again. Ah, those pesky DoT's... A DPS class snap aggro's the mob again, and starts taking damage. How does this change in the situation affect your answer above?
C) Oops, your tank just died... Your Enchanter just tried to mez the mob and is getting whacked on severely. So is your Ranger. We all hate it when a mob ping-pongs agro, and it's happening to you now... What is your best course of action and why? What event would cause you to take the exact opposite course of action and why?
D) The mob is at 30%. You've got a heal incoming on the Tank, but you just know in your heart of hearts that it's just not going to land in time. Normally, you'd just duck out of the heal and click your Epic 1.5 or cast Divine Arbitration, but they are both down already. Yeah, shit happens and it's already been happening in spades in this group... You are at 30% mana. Do you duck out and attempt to catch up on your heals by spam casting your fast heal, or should you do something else? Would your decision change if there were one or more adds? Answer the last question twice. The first time supposing you have a Bard or Enchanter in your group, and the second time supposing you had neither.
E) The mob is at 25%. You have cured its AE on the 3 other remaining group members, but all of you are extremely low on health. Your Enchanter has been valiantly keeping the other 2 adds mezzed, but one more hit from an awakened mob and he's toast. Your Ranger is tanking, and your Druid is casting her little heart out. Your mana is at 1200 and your group is going to wipe unless you do something pretty quickly. As luck would have, and yep, you're the unluckiest Cleric who has ever walked the face of Norrath, your Epic heal is down, as is Divine Arbitration and Celestial Regen/Renewal. What do you do to keep your group from wiping and why?
